The Oh-lympics…

Loosing ones way is a common thing, and it can happen to the best of us… I’m taking a break from school to work, but only for 6 months. This telemarketing job is just a temp job, until i find something better, i don’t love her but i really like her, so why leave… and so on.

The Olympic Games have always stood for the best of the best. Athletes coming together every 4th year to compete against their peers, and try to win the ultimate price. Because don’t get it twisted, winning a world championships is great, but winning gold at the Olympics is the ultimate.

Like anything else that popular it has continuously grown in size every year, and making the right decisions in the spirit of growth can absolutely be hard for an organization with something that big to administrate and run.

But have the IOC and the London hosts officially lost their marbles???

“Moves to safeguard company trademarks and stamp out ambush marketing, to preserve the monopoly of official advertisers and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) logo, are raising concerns among civil liberty groups.

Police will have powers to enter private homes and seize posters, and will be able to stop people carrying non-sponsor items to sporting events.”

Say WHAT???

Coming into people’s homes to take down posters that advertise for products that aren’t official Olympic sponsors?? And where is the line for stopping people carrying non-sponsor items to a sporting event?? If they try to pay with a Mastercard instead of a Visa card?? If they carry a Nokia phone instead of a Samsung? If they wear a Puma shirt instead of Adidas? If they wear a Swatch watch instead of an Omega?? If their digital camera is from Sony and not Panasonic. If their laptop is from Dell and not Acer??

Is that very Olympic? And is it really the message your sponsors wants to send to potential and current customers?? I hope not!
