I grew up reading Nelson George’s articles, following his work from the beginning by default and later as a fan, who knew his work would always be real and worth checking out…

I can’t wait to see this film about a special neighbourhood in NYC that has had a huge impact artistically on the world and all our lives.

The film is a feature-length documentary about the arts movement that exploded in Fort Greene from the mid 1980s through the 90s.

It features Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Rosie Perez, Vernon Reid, Carl Hancock Rux, Saul Williams, Lorna Simpson, Alva Rogers, Kevin Powell, Toure, Bill Stephany to name a few.
