This past week has been weird in one aspect for me.

There has been a higher than average discussions about headphones in my life! I know that I am a headphone addict – but seriously…each of these brands has cropped up in some discussion or another!

Are the headphone gods trying to tell me something?

My pal DJ Nikki made me jealous as hell when she posted this that she got these last week!

Making me instantly jump on High Snobiety to check them out in more detail.

This was the beginning of a week of portable audio brand overload!

Beats By Dre

Cousin Roy (if you don’t know -get to know) informed me that he lost his in a cab recently (an really expensive mistake).

He also made a good point when he said the Gaga’s and then the Diddy’s have cheapened the brand.

The Dre’s seem to have become the most fashionable, the most technically superior and the most expensive headphones to get…and that’s just the marketing!!

What’s worse is that I do believe it and I’ve never even touched a pair. The good Dr Dre, plus some well placed product placements and I’m sold!

So I think it’s about time I read comprehensive review don’t you think?

SkullCandy Full Metal Jacket

I love these, and will happily tell anyone that they made my iphone come alive!!
Guru Phil (Skullcandy’s man in the Nordics) hooked me up and I have been loving me some of these like crazy!!

He called me this week to let me know he had some newness for me to collect! Woohoo!

Then, David aka BANDIT’s Lyor Cohen (inside joke) reminded me about the  new wooden Holua’s which look sick too!!

Bose

I was watching this vid online and spotted that Maurice Jones Drew was wearing a cool set of Bose..(check 34secs in)

Yes marketing folks, it can be a combination of decent PR and then a video of someone you think is cool wearing the product in a truly non-commercial sense (the photo shopped ads don’t fool us)!!

Bose is another brand that I’ve never tried, but I just rolled with PR that they produce the goodness.

There’s the around-ear goodness;

And the in-ear goodness;

They both feature designs that are cool as a fan and the Bose brand has that great rep for sound quality!

Nixon

Then, on Friday, I passed by where my mate works and he showed me these;

The thing is that Nixon are such a cool brand, they design watches, clothes and all sorts of stuff and it always looks good..even the website looks good!

This model has that old skool feel and even has a mic for phone use!!

So I think it’s safe to say, that I’ll be picking up more than one pair of new cans soon!!
