Burger King are nuts…

Before you do anything else, please just spend 50 seconds in here, and watch the video:

“Watch our shower babe shake her bits to the hits at 9:30 every morning.”

Now the let me ask you a few questions….

1. Are you male?

2. Are you between 18-25

If the answer is yes then you’re the target group… My last question would be this.

3. Have Burger King lost their mind?

Listen i understand that you’re number two, and other rules apply to someone in your category. Apple have showed that to death, and others like Pepsi and Adidas could learn something from that… but acting like an immature fool is not what you need to do!

I also understand that this came out of a survey telling you that, and i re-quote:

“Our research showed that breakfast is a male-centric audience for Burger King; it doesn’t resonate as well with women — we are targeting the people who are buying breakfast.”

Ok fair enough, but does that also allow you to say other stupid shit like…

“Our shower-cam gives hungry Brits the chance to watch the BK Shower Girl singing in the shower every day to help them work up an appetite for our fantastic new breakfast range.”

Kids cover your eyes now…

WHAT THE FUCK??!!!??!?!

Are you kidding? Tell me you’re kidding! Pretty please!!!

Firstly the business side of things… Burger King say that they hope to sell more breakfast meals to young male adults with this. Bullshit, and they know that. All this is going to do is maybe get them back into the game when fast food meals are determined, that’s all. And they shouldn’t even hope for that, because eventhough the male youth is sometimes hard to grasp, is this really the way you want to present yourselves to them. Eat meat and fries whilest get a lapdance???

And that is the second part of the stupidity that is this campaign… I’m all for segmentation and microsegmentation, but this is hardly micro. This has already gotten a lot of press and will probably get even more, so that spills into the general Burger King marketing aka older and younger men plus women. If Burger King didn’t know that then their stupid, so let’s say that they did.

How could they think this would work positively on their overall image?? Seriously, how?? Because please remember, they not only peddle half naked women for meals, they also give you a chance to eat with them when their work is done…

Is Burger King a dating service or just pimps?

Burgerking (or their marketing guy’s) have grasped gorilla marketing 21th century.

They took the reality show concept to a new standard, by not doing a lousy commercial, but added that extra thing that got them 300% more publicity.

    Brilliant

Reality show?? Where did you get that from, it’s just some random chick in a bathroom, it’s closer to snuff that reality in my book. So what if you can win a date afterwards, would you firstly really care about some random chick that showers in front of a camera for money?? Are you ever going to see her again after sharing a BK meal?? Nope, because then she won’t get paid… and so on…

And please can we move on from the stoneage thinking that all publicity is good publicity!!!
