So it’s like this…

1. You own an iPhone
2. Your of the female persuasion
3. You wear make-up

If you can say yes to at least two of the three (the rules on no. 2 are bendable) then your reasons to get deeper into the app game, just skyrocketed.

There have been a lot of talk about how you could make a sustainable business out of creating apps for the iPhone, and it’s still an big question, but if your target group is women, then this would probably not be a bad place to start at…

“Beauty-related apps are a high growth market,” said Sunil Verma, a founder of Mobclix, a mobile ad exchange network. Seven to 10 million iPhone or iTouch users have already downloaded a beauty-related app or indicated they are very interested in doing so. And we’re just starting to see big brands get involved, which will be huge,” said Mr. Verma, citing data his company has collected.”

MakeUp is an app that allowes you to apply different kinds of make-up to a photo of yourself, thus saving you endless time in the mall looking for just the right shade of lipgloss.

But that is just one option in an endless stream of apps that let you change your hair, help you find stores or give you make-up tips galore… and it not just smaller brands that are getting into the app game.

Both Lâncome and L’Oréal have entered the marketplace, but the bus doesn’t stop with beauty tips, and the next steps are already being plotted. Because what would you look like with a facelift, botox, bigger lips and so on…

Video killed the radio star, but women may have saved the apps game.

Oh… And if you don’t own an iPhone, well then you just go here!
