A month and a half ago we discussed the arrest of Roman Polanski in Switzerland. Since then both France and Poland have tried to put pressure on both the Swizz and USA, to at least release Polanski on bail.

That happened yesterday, and just makes for an even more confusing mess of a story.

From the beginning this was clearly masterminded from the States, with Switzerland playing a very unclear role. With this move, both countries move further into those assigned roles.

The Swizz were finding it harder to keep him in jail, with all the international pressure.

“It is highly unusual for extradition subjects to be granted bail in Switzerland, says the BBC’s Imogen Foulkes, adding that Polanski’s first application was refused.

But this time the court ruled bail conditions should be enough to prevent him fleeing back to France”.

Really??? A man that has travelled in and out of your country without any problems.. for years! is now supposedly guaranteed to stay because of an device around his leg? Legs that would probably be able to run right back into the open french arms, if they really wanted to.

What does the USA get out of granting Polanski bail, because let’s not beat around the bush. He may officially be under Swizz law right now, but someone else is pulling the strings.

I have no idea, and now i’m even more intrigued to see if he will actually be sent to back to the States. Or if this, from the start, was just the US f#ucking with his current reputation, because they’re not sure that they can get him found guilty.

Honestly, i still don’t think Switzerland’s going to extradite him…
