Last night he probably consolidated his place in the English national side going to the World Cup in South Africa.

Last night they were on the wrong end of a 9-1 trashing.

Today the Wigan players probably knew two things.

1. This is the kind of defeat that only comes along once every blue moon.
2. The fans hate us!

The first thing is something they can’t do anything about now, but the second one is one they could influence, so…
