I’ll be the first to agree that the whole concept behind Shaque Lilli is a bit….. hmmmmm…. odd is the word, i’m looking for i think.

Here’s the set-up from the label…

“Shaque Lilli is a megalomanic french crank living in Berlin, writing songs about his uncertain bisexualty, his broken heart, and struggle to find himself.”

Sure i’ll buy that………………. only thing is, he’s a girl and is really called Caroline Franceska.

But who really cares about such details, and if you love great music, i’m sure you won’t care either, after this!

Shaque Lilli is everything from Prince to Massive Attack, you could throw some really heartbroken Bowie in there if you really wanted, and maybe even a splash of Kate Bush. But the great thing is that she somehow still manages to be herself… in a mustache!

In other words, truly amazing and a one of those revelations that only comes around every so often…
