Earlier this year, a former colleague and good friend Russ Hewitt invited me to take part in an American Football inspired trip that he was considering.

He’d done it before on his own, but this time he was enlisting 2-3 additional people to take part.

The itinerary was glamourous in principle, but much harder to achieve in reality!

• Fly from London to Atlanta
• Drive from Atlanta to Mississippi
• Watch Miss. St play the number one ranked LSU team in a top college game
• Drive to Gainesville, Florida
• Watch a nationally ranked High School game
• Watch University of Florida vs University of Tennessee play in a top college game
• Drive from Gainsville to Atlanta
• Watch the Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles in the big Sunday night game

After almost 1500miles of driving, getting pulled over by US cops 3 times for speeding and many litres of Gatorade – we completed our mission.
