Gillette aren’t sharp enough…

11 March 2011 1,177 views No Comment

It used to be all about the crappy advertising featuring the legendary trio of  sporting greats; Tiger Woods, Roger Federer and Derek Jeter.

How can we forget the classic Gillette ‘Champions’ series?

So now it’s down to the US to go it alone with the ‘Gillette Young Guns’ – do you recognise them?

Maybe this will help;

Gillette have to be commended for finding some fresh blood for this campaign, but HOW DULL IS IT!!!?

And it doesn’t get much better after they have handled the introductions;

Now let’s add the other side of their advertising to the mix, the ‘Pro-Glide Challenge’.

When you add it all together, it’s pretty consistent…consistently bad.

Zero natural chemistry displayed on screen, bland statements from athletes, presented in a vanilla fashion – so what is the consumer meant to believe?

“There’s ready and there’s Gillette ready”

Really? Is that meant to make us all choose Gillette over the other shaving brands when we are next about to purchase?

If so that’s one expensive way of doing it!

Sigh.
