Didn’t Moses Use A Tablet?

27 January 2010 3,387 views 10 Comments

I didn’t want to write this, I feel like a sheep along with everyone else – so let me do what we do at BANDIT and put our spin on events.

Hype has been ever present since the iPhone was announced that Apple would go for the tablet computer and make us all want one.

Do you remember what happened with the iPhone?

Layman’s recap: The first phone had not enough of the stuff that we all wanted. MMS, Copy and Paste etc etc. It took until the 3rd version for Apple give us the upgraded goodies we needed.

But in the meantime, Nokia, Samsung, Blackberry & HTC had nibbled away at the superiority.

Fast forward to 201o and the presentation for the new iTablet.

The Twitterati were quick to show the way forward!

“No phone. No camera. No webcam. No Flash. No USB. Apple just created the 2010 version of the LaserDisc.”

“I’m still going to wait for the iPad v2, when they bring in the camera and allow it to dock on it’s side. and it costs $200 less…”

“So Apple unleashes the much anticipated Ipad. At 64Gb, its going to cost approximately £500. Would you cop one?”

Cnet.com, as they always do, give us a more technical run down of what it can and can’t do (see here).

I think this could be a stretch by the good folks at Apple..

I am totally amazed that someone is NOT psycked about the iPad. I haven’t been anticipated it at all and I am blown away… of course I do tend to sometimes go with the stream and not always against it… I love the way the iPad looks, and like millions others… I’m getting one! And I don’t give a shit about the camera, and who the fuck wants a phone at this size? WTF? USB belongs to the zero years…its 2010 folks – shit is wireless! And I’m sure the next launch will be better and might have a webcam and bla bla but that goes with all products… they always evolve and develop…you don’t wan’t a flatscreen tv becaues your waiting for the 3D one? You just sit there and wait for the perfect product… and have fun doing nothing while the rest of us have a blast learning new stuff and technology as it grows!

“As it stands, a quick, well-structured response from Amazon in the next version of Kindle could easily be a contender here,” a Forrester Research analyst said in a note. “That’s why I say that the iPad is priced lower than expected because it is less revolutionary than expected.”

“It is not able to work with the ubiquitous Flash software that runs many Web sites.” WTF!

Its not a new thing for iPhone users to lack Flash – but to me, it’s damn clever business to leave a little out for 2.0 – otherwise no one will buy that and trust me, plenty will buy 1.0 out of shear curiosity and joy… Are you with me Samira?
    It’s clever business…that is
