Back in love again…

I used to be the biggest Kanye fan, my fellow blogger Rob will tell you how tired he could get of my tirades… But i’ve slowly lost my man crush on him since 808′s & Heartbreak dropped.
Part of the reason for that is that ‘Ye lost a bit of his edge. I’ve always been a fan of people that aren’t afraid of doing things differently. Even if it means turning popular opinion against them.
So unlike most people i love the shit out of this!!!
Apparently Kanye was asked to leave the show after that, and did. He also later apologized for speaking his mind.
Now i understand that you can’t have everybody running on stage constantly, and grabbing the mic every time they don’t agree with what’s going on. But MTV and their various award shows, have also time and time again, shown themselves to be a lot more edgier that other shows. That’s why people keep tuning in. That why celebs keep turning up in big numbers, and it’s why it means so much to win an award.
So by Kanye doing this, and it will quickly be turned around as if he’s looking for some personal spotlight, MTV actually wins on all levels.
Now i don’t think Mr. West did it for himself, i don’t even think he did it for Beyoncé, i think he did it because he thought what everybody at home thought, and had the chance to do something about it.
…..that’s bullshit, “Single Ladies” should have won!
Streetbeat

Now I don’t give a sh*t about videos (or MTV for that matter) these days, so I can’t really say which one of those nominated videos should have won the award, but can someone, anyone, please point out to me what the f*ck is so special about that Beyonce video? Maybe I just don’t get it, so please tell me what makes that video stand out? And for Kanye to say it’s one of the best videos of all time? Ni**a please!
man, Ye was only saying what everyone else was thinking, Taylor friggin who??
MTV may have ‘won’ but i gotta respect the man for havin balls.
YES – The coverage of the incident and the fallout is great for MTV.
YES – He said what we were all thinking.
YES – He didn’t do it as some preconceived publicity stunt (Bruno/Eminem)
But he’s done it before and the overwhelming response is that he’s a cock of the biggest order!
The renegade side of his nature always has this downside…
So much hate for him out on the internets today.
I think your right, he was only saying out loud what everyone else was thinking.
Take Ye’s outspoken behaviour and dont give a fuck attitude and you wont have the same talented performer who the majority of us love.
People are too quick to hate. It wasnt the best idea, he apologised, he left. To me that should be the end of it but the number of blogs/newspaper reports etc that are intent on crucifying this man is crazy.
Apparently he’s on Leno tonight, lets see what he has to say.
I slightly hate the fact that I am even commenting on this as I feel I have lowered myself to caring about and/or buying into things like this but, as much as I say ‘fair enough’ to the opinion of the blog and of the comments made so far here, is he not basically a bit of a twat for doing this, not just once but twice now? (he did it last year or the year before, no?)
taylor swift is just a young girl doing her job, probably not claiming to be much more than she is and, whatsmore, this is MTV… it’s an entertainment-based award show… it’s not like it’s a highly credible award that really matters, or a presidential vote that requires interference or people speaking out should they disagree politically etc… least of all right there and then.
also, i would suggest there is a kind of unwritten rule that says people in the entertainment industry should not put fellow professionals down publicly like this? no-one does it to him, although they could easily. it’s poor from kanye west.
sorry rob and streetbeat but i just think he is a bit of a cunt (can i say that?)
Yes you can Isi_777 and in my opinion you would be right!
I think most people would say that Kanye is a big baby, a bully and a bitch.
Whenever celebs pull a stunt like this, the only way to not make this a bigger issue is to not feed the hype about the incident and as I was watching the show live last night we knew that was already impossible. So many people on Facebook was writing about it and MTV was already doing a live Twitter feed for their show so of course even today people would be writing/talking/blogging about the incident.
However this move is something that clearly is very Kanye-like. Is it disrespectful to whoever the winner was, YES but again Kanye has always been this person who has done whatever he felt like. He went against a livebroad casting and talked about Bush not caring about Black people. He threw his similar fit in Copenhagen about the French duo winning “his” award and then hired the same director to do his Good Life video.
Yes, as written in this post, cocky Kanye seemed to have disappeared after losing his mother, breaking up the engagement with his former girl and even writing about how humble and how grown up he has become after his 808′s album on his blog. This has gained him even more fans but shouldn’t we have seen the signs after the huge success of his recent album when he was sitting in Paris talking about how people should call him Martin Louis the King Jr? Even more success with his collabo shoes with LV and then came the Air Yeezy’s. It was just a matter of time before he came back to his old self and that’s what happened yesterday.
No such thing as bad press.
Here’s the deal..
For me it’s not about if Kanye made a fool out of himself or not, if he was drunk or not, if his ego get the better of him or not, if the Taylor Swift got her feelings hurt or not…
For me it very much about people reacting this strongly, and at all, because it’s Kanye. Had it been John Mayer, John Legend or John from Peter,Bjorn & John the reaction would have been different.
And sorry Isi, that unwritten rule is bogus. If you want a squeeky clean image, yes you can try to live by that plastic rule, but if you’re a real person then you do real things.
What Kanye did last night was real.
Like it or not.
Dear Kanye,
I met you a while ago… before you were ermmm “Kanye”… you once got on my tour bus to make sure I was ok before a show. I’d come down with a crazy cold and thought I wasn’t able to go on that night… I thought it was really sweet that you were concerned. Matter of fact, it was House of Blues Myrtle Beach when Floetry were opening up for you. We had so much fun on the road, you were so cool, you knew all the words to Mase “Harlem World” album, we had jokes bout that
.
Time has passed and things have changed… still, when our paths have crossed, you haven’t hesitated to say “What up” which is cool. I’m not sure what exactly has caused you to do and say the outlandish things that you have said and done and can only speculate. I wish you well, always have and well you have done… just not so much right now. Today, I received more calls, texts, emails, bbms about you… “Kanye did it again” “F*ck Kanye” “Kanye is finished” I didn’t even see it… but based on past occurrences, I could only imagine… seriously… TAYLOR SWIFT??? Mid speech, thanking God, parents and fans… recalling in a moment her journey, what she had been through to get to her moment… and your ignorant arrogant ass made an ass of everything you represent.
I was embarrassed… I support you, your art… my nephew is 5 and wants to be you for Halloween… how could you??? That wasn’t your moment… you made a fool of the position you have been fortunate and blessed to be in, the millions of people who love what it is that you do and look to you as an example, you EMBARRASSED US ALL… smh… had many people just shaking heads. you made it easier for those who have waited for you to fail, to fall, to let you do so… DO BETTER!!! AIM HIGHER!!!
Your bar is set, *look up!!! Touch the Sky!!!
Yours Truly, Marsha Ambrosius
Kanye’s apology;
“I’m so sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers! I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment! Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade!!! I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!! I’m sorry to my friends at MTV.
I will apologize to Taylor 2mrw (tomorrow). Welcome to the real world!!! Everybody wanna boo me but I’m a fan of real pop culture! No disrespect but we watchin’ (watching) the show at the crib right now cause…well you know!!! I’m still happy for Taylor!!! Booyaa. You are very very talented. I gave my award to Outkast when they deserved it over me. That’s what it is! I’m not crazy yall (y’all), I’m just real. Sorry for that! I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry!!! Much respect!!!”
Isn’t the whole reaction from the world that Kanye is one of the world’s biggest stars at the moment and that people have been following his career and seeing his ups and downs, his good sides and his bad sides and feeling him why they react so strongly? He has done this before and said publicly how he has changed for the better after the heartbreaks and so on.
I just think people would like him to be more respectful since people are respectful to him. This is the same guy I saw perform at the grammys I believe with the heartfelt song Hey Mama and after winning whatever Grammy award catagory was very moved and then the music was playing before he was done with his speech and demanded to have more time to speak because he had lost his mother and so on. Yes, you lost your mother. We understand the loss is difficult for any person but who are you to demand more time than any other person winning an award? What if some other celeb had come on stage during that moment and complained about him winning?
Jay-Z should have a talk with his “Little Brother” Puffy style and talk to him about his bitchassness!!!
The apology is bull!
He could have waited to rush the stage after Taylor’s acceptance speech however that wouldn’t have been “real”. He did ruin her moment but everyone will remember this moment of course.
“I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.

Kanye via his blog…
I actually cant believe some of the comments I have been reading here and all over the place in reaction to what happend.
Lets break it down.
1. Kanye goes on stage, speaks his mind and MTV, cut short Taylor swifts acceptance speech. When the mic is given back to her, some mtv production assistant or what not leads her off the stage and they cut to some commercials.
2. Beyonce invites Taylor back on stage to give her acceptance that was originally interupted by Kanye but cut short by MTV
3. Kanye apologises twice via his blog
4. Kanye appears on Leno, where obviously very emotional he gives another heartfelt apology.
So, he reacted to something on emotion, PLEASE do not try and tell me that you have not done the same thing before? because its in the public arena why does that make it any worse? Please dont start on the whole its being televised world wide crap.
We all know he shouldnt of got on stage. We know this. He knows this. He has apologised, what more can you ask for.
I still think MTV had a part to play, no one asked them to cut short Taylor swift’s acceptance speech, they could of given her an extra 30 seconds. If she was too upset to speak then fair enough but I think they had just as big part as anyone in the whole incident.
Next time any of you critisizing react on emotion and say something you shouldnt have, I hope your friends all give you the same kind of heat that you and others are giving Kanye over it and before you try and say it, no its not different.
The more ppl talk, the more press Ye gets.. He’s an attentionwhore and the best thing here would be to ignore it. It’ a stupid move I agree but from a PR standpoint it doesn’t deserve the attention. He did the same thing at the MTV show in Cph.
@Rob MTV definetly have at part to play in this, as Streetbeat already pointet out earlier, they thrive on controversy and the show is edgy. So when Ye pulls a stunt like this, they just run with it.
MTV doesn’t lose anything on him pulling a stunt like this. Incidents like this one keeps people watching year after year and MTV knows this.
If someone else famous in the industry known for pulling stunts like this did this they would have to take the beatings too. Especially if they have the status like Kanye. Those are the facts.
We all know that famous people don’t get treated the same way as non famous people. Is he just a human being? Yes, of course. Humans will never be perfect but like I said I think people would have expected him to have stayed quiet after all his personal tribulations lately but again disappointing many people once again.
Or maybe people just underestimate the popularity of country/pop music and how big of an American sweetheart Taylor Swift is and how big bad Kanye almost made her cry live.
And still nobody can tell me what the f**k is so special about that Beyonce video??
